IFS Practitioner Directory Best Practices
Follow these best practices to ensure your IFS Practitioner Directory listing is accurate, easy to find, and appealing to potential clients.
Make Sure Your Profile is Searchable
Your profile is live and searchable once published. Keep the following in mind:
- Listings are sorted alphabetically by last name.
- IFS Certified Therapists and Practitioners appear before those who are IFS Trained.
- Those seeking services often search by state or city.
Tip: Use the Map View at the bottom of the directory to see how your profile appears.
Understand Location Limits
To maintain performance and prevent errors:
- Listings are limited to three locations total.
- Only one location can be pinned to display on the map.
- Each location must include a valid city and postal code.
Tip: Your first pinned address determines how your profile appears in state and city searches.
List Virtual-Only Services Clearly
If you offer virtual services, describe them explicitly:
- Include descriptors such as Online, Virtual, or Telehealth in your profile.
- Enter the state where you are approved to practice, along with a relevant city and ZIP code.
Optimize for Keyword Search
Many people use the directory’s keyword search to find providers. To increase your visibility, include relevant terms in your profile generally using the “Focus” section, such as:
- Specializations (e.g., grief, trauma)
- Other identifiers (e.g., Christian, LGBTQ+)
- Insurance and payment options (e.g., Medicare, sliding scale)
Including specific keywords helps ensure your profile appears in relevant searches and makes it easier for clients to find you.
