Who is eligible to apply for Level 1 IFS Training?

You are likely eligible if you:

- Are a licensed mental health professional
- Are currently under supervision toward licensure
- Hold a Master’s or PhD in a mental health field and are authorized to provide mental health services
You are likely not eligible if you:

- Do not work in a mental health profession
- Do not hold (or are not pursuing) licensure or equivalent credentials

Full Eligibility Criteria (North American Trainings)
The following is a list of professions held by U.S. residents who will be considered for IFS Institute North American Level 1 Training Programs*:
- Licensed mental health professionals, including but not limited to:
- Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC & LPC-Associates)
- Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW)
- Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT & Associates)
- Licensed Psychologists
- Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselors
- Social workers under supervision
- Psychiatrists
- Doctors of Medicine (MD)
- Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Psychiatric Registered Nurses
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners
- Chaplains, including:
- Board Certified Chaplains (BCC)
- Provisional Board Certified Chaplains (PBCC)
- Associate Certified Chaplains (ACC)
- Provisional Associate Certified Chaplains (PACC)
- Individuals who:
- Have earned a Master’s or PhD in a mental health field
- AND have the legal authority to provide mental health services
- (including those conducting research on IFS as a psychotherapeutic model)
International Applicants
If you reside outside of the U.S., you must be a registered mental health professional with a regulatory oversight authority (e.g., registered psychotherapist) to be considered for North American Level 1 Trainings.

- The General Application fee is $75 USD and non-refundable
- Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance or an invitation to register
- Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be approved
