Strong Program Assistant applicants typically demonstrate qualities that support the learning environment and the needs of the training.

The following characteristics are commonly valued in Program Assistant (PA) applicants:

IFS Practice and Self-Leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to hold Self-energy

  • Ability to unblend from parts and speak for parts rather than from parts

  • Willingness to work with personal activation when it arises

  • Ongoing practice and integration of the IFS model

  • Deep understanding of the IFS model and its application

Group and Team Skills

  • Ability to help hold and guide a small group

  • Openness to feedback and willingness to make adjustments when needed

  • Willingness to contribute to the collective functioning of the staff team

  • Openness to continued learning and growth

Professional Development

Preference may also be given to applicants who:

  • Have prior experience serving as a Program Assistant

  • Have completed the PA Administrative Orientation

  • Have completed a PA Development Workshop

  • Are IFS Certified

Final selection decisions are made by the trainer team based on the needs of the specific training.
