What is a Program Assistant in IFS Trainings?
Program Assistants (PAs) are members of the training staff who support Lead and Assistant Trainers during IFS Institute trainings.
PAs play an important role in helping participants integrate their learning and practice the IFS model in small group settings.
What Does a Program Assistant Do?
Program Assistants support trainings by:
-
Facilitating or co-facilitating reflection groups
-
Supporting small practice groups during skills practice
-
Helping participants work with activation and unblending
-
Modeling Self-energy and professional boundaries
-
Participating in staff meetings before, during, or after training days
In small groups, PAs help participants deepen their understanding of the IFS model, provide feedback, and support a safe and structured learning environment.
The Nature of the Role
The Program Assistant role is a volunteer position that includes a daily stipend for full training days attended.
Serving as a PA requires time, preparation, and active engagement throughout the training. PAs are expected to be fully present for the entire training and to collaborate as part of the staff team.
PAs are not participants in the training in which they serve. Instead, they function as part of the instructional support team.
