IFS Training Attendance and Certificate of Completion Requirements

Understand IFS training attendance expectations, missed-session policies, and how to find the Certificate of Completion requirements for your specific training.

Attendance and participation requirements apply to all IFS Institute training programs.

Before registering—and again before making travel, scheduling, or payment commitments—review the attendance requirements for your specific training.

Your Training’s exact schedule and Certificate of Completion & Attendance requirements are listed in the Informational Brochure available on the Training webpage.

Why are attendance requirements important?

IFS trainings are structured learning programs that include live instruction, demonstrations, experiential activities, practice sessions, and other required components.

Participants must attend the required amount of training time to be eligible for an IFS Certificate of Completion.

Missing more than the permitted amount of time may mean that you can continue attending the training but will not receive a Certificate of Completion.

Are attendance requirements the same for every training?

No. Attendance requirements vary based on the:

  • Training level
  • Training format
  • Number and length of sessions
  • Daily schedule
  • Structure of the training program

Even trainings at the same level may have different schedules or required attendance hours.

For example, Level 1 trainings may be offered in different formats. Some formats include shorter bridge days, while others include full session days in their place. Because the total scheduled hours differ, the number of hours required for completion may also differ.

Do not assume that the attendance requirement from another IFS training applies to your training.

Where can I find my required attendance hours?

Review the Certificate of Completion and Attendance Requirements section of your Training's Informational Brochure.

Where can I find my Training's Informational Brochure?

The brochure will identify:

  • The full training schedule
  • The total number of live training hours
  • The minimum number of hours you must attend
  • The amount of time you may miss and remain eligible for completion

The Informational Brochure for your specific training is the authoritative source for your attendance requirement.

Can I miss part of the training?

Participants may generally miss a limited amount of training time and remain eligible for a Certificate of Completion.

The permitted absence varies by training. Review your Informational Brochure before deciding whether your expected absence falls within the allowed limit.

Whenever possible, plan to attend every scheduled session.

Are recordings available for missed sessions?

No. IFS Institute does not provide recordings or transcripts as a substitute for missed live training hours.

Missed hours cannot be completed by watching a recording at a later date.

Can I attend online if I miss an in-person session?

No. Online or streaming attendance is not available as a substitute for an in-person training session unless the training is specifically advertised as including an online component.

Participants registered for an in-person training should plan to attend at the training location for all required in-person sessions.

Can missed hours be made up in another training?

No. Participants cannot attend sessions from another training to make up missed hours.

Registrations, attendance records, and completion requirements are specific to the training in which the participant is enrolled.

What happens if I do not meet the attendance requirement?

If you do not meet the attendance requirement for your training, you will not be eligible for the IFS Certificate of Completion.

Attendance in the program does not guarantee a Certificate of Completion. Participants must meet all applicable completion requirements listed in the training brochure.

What should I do if I already know I will miss part of the training?

First, compare the dates and times you expect to miss with the attendance requirements in the Informational Brochure.

Consider:

  • How many total hours you will miss
  • Whether the absence affects one or multiple training days
  • Whether additional unexpected absences would put you over the permitted limit

If your expected absence may prevent you from meeting the completion requirement, review the withdrawal and refund policy before the applicable refund deadline.

Contact the IFS Institute Help Desk if you need help locating or interpreting the requirements listed in your training brochure.
