An invitation from Dick Schwartz…

I’m thrilled to invite you to join our global community of advanced IFS learners in the Continuity Program. This offer is available to those who’ve completed an IFS Level 1 Training or Online Circle.

For over six years, we’ve developed programs focused on IFS applications of current clinical topics. We’ve witnessed a phenomenal community of thousands develop and connect from around the world.

I’m always excited to see how our IFS trainers and thought leaders are on the front lines of innovation with the model. The highlights for me are my monthly connections with the IFS Continuity community. During my live events, we provide opportunities for members to present case consultations, as well as selective review of client demonstration videos.

Here’s what we’ll cover in the next program:

This program is designed to deepen clinicians’ understanding of rupture and repair within therapeutic relationships, emphasizing personal reflection, power dynamics, and clinical application. The series begins with inner awareness, guiding participants to recognize how their internal systems respond to rupture.  Ruptures often stem from misattunements or unmet relational needs and when left unresolved, they harm the alliance and outcomes. When repaired, they can strengthen resilience and deepen trust.

Power dynamics will be addressed within each session as they are central to understanding rupture, particularly across different relational contexts—client, supervisor, partner, etc. Concepts such as the privileged and subjugated self-help clinicians recognize how social power influences therapeutic engagement. Clinicians will be encouraged to examine their own histories with rupture (ages 0–22), how protectors may show up in response to exiles that have been created in response to this history of rupture.

Tools for presence, self-awareness, and attuned intervention are provided to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.  Through practical strategies, clinicians learn to stay embodied during rupture, support client repair, and integrate cultural sensitivity and power analysis to improve therapeutic outcomes.

January 2026

Rupture and Repair – Tuning Inside

This session grounds participants in the foundational IFS principle of turning inward to recognize how ruptures activate different parts within the therapist. Clinicians will learn to identify protectors that arise during relational tension and assess their own capacity to remain Self-led. The session distinguishes between ruptures happening in the present moment and those that activate deeper trailheads—opportunities for healing unresolved wounds.

Participants will practice tools to evaluate when they are sufficiently unblended to initiate or support authentic repair.

  • Live 75-minute video demonstration with Dick Schwartz on Wednesday, January 14 at 1 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. CT / 11 a.m. MT / 10 a.m. PT
  • Live 75-minute Q&A with Gwen Hurd and Margaret Conley on Monday, January 26 at 3 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. CT / 1 p.m. MT / 12 p.m. PT
February 2026

Power Dynamics, Cultural Sensitivity, and Mis attunements

Building on IFS’s attention to context and system, this session explores how external systems of power (race, class, gender, etc.) influence internal dynamics and client-therapist relationships. Clinicians will identify how their own manager or firefighter parts may unconsciously uphold power dynamics, leading to mis attunements. Through culturally attuned practices, participants will learn how to engage from Self-energy, making space for clients’ unique systems while reducing reactivity and misunderstanding rooted in unexamined biases.

  • Live 75-minute video demonstration with Dick Schwartz on Wednesday, February 4 at 1 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. CT / 11 a.m. MT / 10 a.m. PT
  • Live 75-minute Q&A with Gwen Hurd and Margaret Conley on Monday, February 23 at 3 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. CT / 1 p.m. MT / 12 p.m. PT
March 2026

The Relational Field – External (Therapist–Client Dynamic)

This session explores when rupture happens in the relational field between therapist and client through an IFS lens. Participants will deepen their ability to stay in Self-energy while interacting with clients’ parts that may be wary, skeptical, withdrawn, or reactive. Clinicians will also identify their own protective parts that can interfere with attunement and co-regulation. Tools will be introduced to foster a collaborative relationship between the therapist’s Self and the client’s parts, encouraging mutual trust and safe exploration when rupture occurs within the therapeutic alliance.

  • Live 75-minute video demonstration with Dick Schwartz on Wednesday, March 18 at 1 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. CT / 11 a.m. MT / 10 a.m. PT
  • Live 75-minute Q&A with Gwen Hurd and Margaret Conley on  Monday, March 23 at 3 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. CT / 1 p.m. MT / 12 p.m. PT
April 2026

The Relational Field – Internal (Within the Therapist and Client Systems)

Focusing on internal relational dynamics, this session helps clinicians map and engage the inner system—both their own and their clients’. Participants will identify protectors that block access to vulnerable exiles and learn how internal ruptures (such as betrayal between parts) signal the need for internal repair. Strategies for restoring balance and increasing Self-to-part connection are offered, supporting the therapist’s capacity to stay resourced and guide clients toward the same internal healing and integration.

  • Live 75-minute Q&A with Gwen Hurd and Margaret Conley on  Monday, April 27 at 3 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. CT / 1 p.m. MT / 12 p.m. PT
  • Live 75-minute video demonstration with Dick Schwartz on Wednesday, April 29 at 1 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. CT / 11 a.m. MT / 10 a.m. PT
