Attendance and Participation

What do Dual/Multiple Relationships mean?

A dual or multiple relationship occurs when you have a secondary connection to another participant or staff member in the training.
Examples include situations where another participant is:

  • Your therapy client
  • Someone you work with professionally
  • In consultation with you

These relationships should be disclosed and considered carefully to maintain the integrity and safety of the training environment.   Let your Assistant Trainer know if you have a dual relationship with another participant or member of staff.

See the official IFS policy on Dual/Multiple relationships HERE.

How do you handle a dual relationship in a training?

Based on the standards outlined above, you can determine whether a dual relationship is workable or unworkable (i.e., not comfortably able to be in the same training).

If deemed workable, your training team will support this by ensuring that you and the other individual are only together during:

  • Large group sessions (e.g., meditations, didactic teachings, demos)

You will not be assigned to the same:

  • Reflection group
  • Practice group
  • Dyad experiential group
  • Any other small process group
I have an official ADA request. How do I make that?

Please fill out this form.

If you are seeking support that does not constitute an official ADA accommodation, please contact your Assistant Trainer. Examples of such requests include:

• Permission to remain off camera during portions of the training

• Flexibility to move during sessions

• Other individual support needs

I will miss part of a session. Who do I let know?
If you anticipate missing a few hours of a session, please notify your Assistant Trainer in advance.
This helps with breakout room planning, and allows Zoom support to be aware and assist as needed.

I have a conflict for an entire session. Can I join another training for that session or watch a recording?

Due to the safety and confidentiality of our trainings, participants cannot join another training to make up missed time.

Additionally, because of the sensitive nature of shared content, recording is strictly prohibited.

Recordings of training sessions that feature staff members shall be used solely for purposes related to their promotion and career advancement. These recordings are not authorized for any other use, distribution, or reference outside of the promotion process.

I was absent for a portion of the session. Am I eligible for CE?

While we do advertise that full attendance is mandatory, we encourage participants to apply for CE credit if only a small portion of time was missed.

Attendance records are submitted to our CE provider along with the participant’s application.
The CE provider will review the information and determine eligibility based on their criteria.

Is there makeup work for time missed?

We do not offer makeup work for missed training time.
If you miss part of a session, your Assistant Trainer can support you by reviewing what was covered and, at their discretion, may offer additional guidance.
