What if I’m applying from outside the United States?
Eligibility requirements for IFS Institute trainings vary slightly depending on whether you reside inside or outside of the United States.
Applicants who live outside the U.S. are welcome to apply, provided they meet the professional eligibility requirements outlined below.
Eligibility for applicants outside the United States
Individuals who reside outside of the United States must be internationally registered mental health professionals to be considered for IFS Institute North American Level 1 Trainings.
This includes professionals who are registered, licensed, or regulated by a recognized oversight or governing body in their country of residence (for example, Registered Psychotherapists or equivalent credentials).
How eligibility is determined
Eligibility is based on the professional criteria published by the IFS Institute. At this time, the IFS Institute is unable to evaluate eligibility on an individual basis outside of the General Application review process.
If you believe you meet the professional eligibility requirements, you’re welcome to submit a Level 1 General Application (GA) during an open application period.
Please note that the $75 USD General Application fee is non-refundable.
Applying from outside the U.S.
-
The General Application process is the same for applicants inside and outside the United States.
-
General Applications are available only during designated application periods.
-
Application periods open on a rolling basis throughout the year.
If an application period is not currently open, you can sign up to receive email notifications so you’ll know when the next application window becomes available.
Already completed training outside the U.S.?
If you have completed prior IFS training and are applying for a higher-level training, only trainings completed through the IFS Institute or its authorized International Partners or North American partners are recognized for eligibility purposes.
If you’re unsure whether your prior training meets this requirement, please contact us before submitting an application.
